| This is a short but scary blog. Be warned! I AM THE WOLFMAN! No, that's not it, I was only funnin'. Here is what 'tis. Yesterday I was listening to the radio - KSFO - a Santa Cruz station - not really listening, as I was on the phone, but I heard a little bit, and what I heard would have been scary if I was the type to be scared. But, having lived in America quite awhile now I'm fairly innured or seasoned to horrendousness. Like, if I met a Wolfmann while I was passing a graveyard I would run like heck, but in a drawing room or kitchen I would, as I have done before, shake his hand. So, I'm pretty tough; but what I heard yesterday was thoughtfully diverting. You've all heard of the Gerson cure, I'm sure ... for Cancer and so-called incurable diseases, where you are given a gallon or so carrot juice a day for a week and then treated to a variety of organic foods and juices and given a regimen of diet to take home with you and stay on until you are cured - and thereafter never to deviate much from if you want to stay cured. Well, the son of Mrs. Gerson was being interviewed and he admitted right off that many people think of him as a nut - and why? Because - this is the scary part - he believes the United States government is purposely trying to poison us so that we don't live to be too old. Not only is it bad for Social Security but it's bad for the pharmaceutical business to have all these old people tromping around without being sick and no doubt getting in all the young workers' way. Right now it's ok because they can be good for business but what happens if there are too many of the (us) old goats - and sheep? Really I'm not scared because I'm too old for that, but I do have to reflect on the fact that many a time I wondered how the government could allow and encourage the many products out there on the grocery store shelves that seem to contain an overabundance of needless chemicals. And now here is this scary guy who is 65 years old and looks and feels like a youngster, whose mother is 86 years old and never, (let us say hardly ever), gets sick and is busy working every day in the business of curing people -- and he is crazy enough to conceive and believe that our government wants us dead! You got to admit that it's all just a teensy bit scary upon reflection. Is this better than a Boris Karloff movie or what!? I'd just like to say that so far I wil not believe that our gov. is quite that bad but since I believe our gov. does not really know what it's doing, we're all skating on thin ice out there, kids. Now admiit it, isn't this just a little bit creepy? Maybe you think I'm creepy because I told you so. Actually, I feel great. Well, Ok for my age. Of course, I admit it, I'm a bit of a health food nut so I'm not too much afraid ... of my big bad wolf Uncle Sam. I think he listens, just a bit short on understanding. (I could be wrong.) | | |
| One of the best quotes I ever heard in my life I just now heard on the radio --- from a Mr. Billy Sunshine, I think it was. "When companies look out for what's in their best interests, they call that: Capitalism; when employees look out for what is in their best interests, that's called: Socialism." | | |
| The end of an era, When trust was in the air, A short space, a short time, Life and love was fair.
A friendship so sincere It lightly rode the air; A mated swan, you now fly on, Remembered, blessed, and dear.
yeah, rhymes are a bit overdone, but I'm out of practice; the thoughts are pretty much rightly captured; seems to be what I care most about these days, matching the words to the thoughts.

| One does not lose God But, reveling in His mend, Moves on, away, Toward a private end.
God abides the time The student spends in lore And bids him wend in rhyme Towards the sighted shore. Though winds can blow offcourse, 'Tis but to add some spice; In the journey toward our source Love is more than nice. | | |
